Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium at Fens Primary School
At Fens Primary School, we are one community, growing and learning together. We are committed to ensuring that all children, whatever their starting point, are supported to achieve well and thrive in every aspect of school life.
The Pupil Premium Grant provides additional funding, from the Government, to support pupils who may face barriers to learning, including those eligible for free school meals, looked‑after children and those previously in care and pupils who have parents in the armed forces. This funding helps us promote equality of opportunity and raise outcomes for disadvantaged pupils.
Our Approach
We know our children well and place their individual needs at the heart of our work. Alongside high‑quality teaching for all, we provide carefully planned support that helps pupils make strong academic progress while also supporting their social, emotional and personal development.
How We Use the Grant
The Pupil Premium Grant is used to:
Strengthen high‑quality teaching and learning
Provide targeted small‑group or one‑to‑one support where necessary
Support pupils’ wellbeing, confidence and emotional development
Improve attendance and engagement
Ensure all pupils can access visits, clubs and enrichment activities
We want every child to feel valued, included and able to access the same opportunities as their peers.
Monitoring and Impact
School leaders and governors closely monitor the impact of Pupil Premium Grant. We regularly review pupils’ progress, attendance and wellbeing to ensure support is effective and funding is used well to improve outcomes.
Working with Families
We value strong partnerships with parents and carers. If your child is eligible for Pupil Premium and you would like more information, please speak to a member of staff. All conversations are treated sensitively and confidentially.
At Fens Primary School, we are committed to nurturing strong foundations that enable every child to achieve success both now and in the future.
