Religious Education

At Fens Primary school, RE contributes to the aims of the whole school ethos and has an important role as part of a broad and balanced curriculum to which all pupils are entitled to.

We aim to promote the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of pupils and prepare them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences for later life. RE allows pupils the opportunities to listen to others, hear and analyse conflicting viewpoints and develop empathy and respect towards others.

We aim to provoke and develop pupil’s knowledge and understanding of Christianity, of other principal religions, other religious traditions and world views that offer answers to challenging questions about religion.

We offer pupils opportunities to examine the significance of religion in relation to themselves and others and consider how religion and beliefs have an impact on individuals and groups in local, national and global contexts.
